CAPTCHA rate
Captcha rate is how often a target answers with a challenge instead of a page. Proxy Compare publishes none for any of the 42 providers it tracks, read 5 Oct 2026, because no provider defines it comparably. 5 providers here offer JavaScript rendering, the nearest thing to a paid answer.
Why it costs you money
Challenges bill like successes and deliver nothing, and solving them adds a per-request cost from a third-party service on top of the bandwidth. That second cost is now a figure rather than a warning: solving services charge from {cheapestSolve} to {dearestSolve} per 1,000 solves depending on the challenge, across the {captchaSolvers} we read {captchaDate}. A network with a low ban rate and a high challenge rate can be more expensive to run than one that simply blocks you, because the failure is not obvious in the logs.

- Ban rateThe share of requests a target site refuses. The number that decides real cost, and the one nobody publishes.
- Success rateThe share of requests that get through. The number that decides everything, and the one no comparison table can give you.
- IP reputationHow a target site scores an address before serving it, based on what that address has done elsewhere.
- Exit nodeThe address a target website actually sees. Everything before it in the chain is invisible to the site you are fetching.
- JavaScript renderingRunning a page's own scripts in a browser before returning it. Scraping APIs charge more for it, sometimes five times a plain fetch.

Questions
Will a better proxy stop the captchas?
It moves the number, it does not set it. The target decides when to challenge, and no provider among the 42 here defines a captcha rate you could compare against another, read 5 Oct 2026.
Is there anything I can buy that helps?
Two different things. 5 of the 42 providers here offer JavaScript rendering, read 5 Oct 2026, which costs more per request. Separately, a captcha solving service clears the challenge for a fee: 10 of them publish rates from $0.1 to $50 per 1,000 across 45 challenge types, read 3 Oct 2026.
Is a captcha the same as a ban?
No. A captcha is a challenge you can sometimes pass and a ban is a refusal, and they usually mean different things about how the target sees you. Both belong to the target site rather than to the address.
